HOCKEY

You could say Port Alice is  a HOCKEY TOWN! Minor Hockey (3-18 year olds) is thriving here with Port Alice fielding a Peanut team (3 -5) and a Novice team (6-8).  The older players are invited to play  on the Port McNeill teams and hold some practices here in Port Alice.

The older players 9-18 can also participate in the  North Island Eagles Rep Teams which participate in games outside the Tri-Port Minor Hockey Association area. Port Alice currently has 2 Atoms (9-10) and 2 Peewees (11-12) playing.

Tri-Port Minor Hockey Association League games  throughout the season rotate between the 3 communities. An annual  Jamboree event hosted by Port Alice mixes all the teams for a fun day which includes a hamburger lunch etc.

PAMH the Port Alice Minor Hockey Association group fund raises throughout the year with Bottle & Pop Can donations and drives (drop offs to Tarah & Brodie’s place Alderwood Acres Unit  #43) and by selling firewood, $75 per truckload delivered, call Sydney Frank (250) 284-6666 or (250) 209-2407. Raffles are occasionally run as well, but the steadiest fundraising is through the concession which they operate in the Doug Bondue Arena. Each family contributes about 30 hours a year to that effort! PAMH fundraising ensures that all interested children can participate regardless of circumstances, and that tourney fees are covered as well as all players receiving team jackets.
